I think what was different about shows like the A-team the Fall Guy and Knight Rider was how "pimped" the vehicles were. Colt's truck had an air ram in the flatbed a winch on the front a compartment in te side of the flatbed which could store anything about the size of a pizza box which Colt demonstrated when he hid a flywheel in there to help subdue a guy. BA's van not only had the ceiling mounted CB, it contained all the team's small arms and explosives in a padlocked trunk in the back as well as compartments on the inside. Of course KITT was unique for constantly showing off new features from minor additons like the grappling hook to being completely recreated and made even faster. Other shows cars just weren't this versatile.
