'Cosmos' in 2004

I am thinking about buying 'Cosmos' for my high school age brother who is fascinated by astronomy and the universe. My only reservation is that he really enjoys the amazing imagery that can be found throughout the universe. Will he be disappointed by the renderings shown in 'Cosmos' or does the miniseries hold up visually even in today's world of digital technology?

I found this series to be fascinating and enchanting when watching it last year. The special effects might not be state-of-the-art, but they are nevertheless interesting.

I dont think that he's gonna be disapointed at all .. very nice colors , nice movement in the animation and a lot of details. Everything is so simply explained !if I had seen that documentary when i was a kid.. i would be brighter i think. there is a couple of cheezy shots , but nothing really anoying.
