Confirmation of Bergerac finale?

I wonder if this was the final scene/episode (Filmed 1990, so maybe no)

Bergerac sails away from his wife/girlfriend in a speedboat while she sexily intones 'So long Jim Bergerac'

Whether final or not can anyone name me the episode?

It was the finale of one of the seasons, but not the last ever episode. The boat was Charlie Hungerfords yacht, and the next season began with Jim telephoning Charlie from GIBRALTAR, to tell him that the Yacht was grounded there due to technical problems or engine trouble, and charlie told him to fly back to jersey asap......

Yes, it was the last episode proper in the seventh series, not counting the 'bonus' Xmas special 'Second Time Around', which was shown between series Seven and Eight but appeared to ignore Jim's circumstances when last seen.

Series Seven is the latest series currently to be released on DVD - I'm eagerly awaiting Series Eight!

Hi there,

Last ever episode is entitled "All for Love" which was made and broadcast in 1991. It sees Jim, who is now a private eye, dumped by his French girlfriend, back on the booze and framed for murder.

The final scene of the episode sees Charlie Hungerford confirming to Jim that he has secured him a new job as head of the Bureau des Etrangers as it is rolled out across the Channel Islands.

It's actually not a particularly good episode and slightly trashy, but it did at least bring some form of closure to the series and his ex-wife Deborah saving his life is a nice touch.

couldn't disagree more. After the disappointing series eight I thought series nine did a better job and especially 'all for love'. A great ending to the series. And superb episode.

I do agree about series 8. It was a bit of a disappointment and a lot of the episodes were uneventful and slow moving. Series 9 did actually offer up some decent episodes such as "The Evil That Men Do" and "My Friend Charlie" and "The Waiting Game". I even thought "The Assassin" was decent.

All for Love is certainly one of the stronger episodes of Series 9 (if you can count it as series 9 as it was filmed the next year) and is highly entertaining but I don't believe it represents the show at is best. I think series 5 was probably the strongest.

I agree series five was one of the strongest of the series. But I also liked two and three. Having said that, most of my favorite episodes include Phillippa Vale, with " treasure hunt" being one of my absolute favorite episodes of the entire series :p

I wish there would have been more with here in it

Yeah I agree. Series 1 wasn't the strongest and I think after series 5 it lost its way a bit in some ways. Series 7 especially seemed preoccupied with Jim and Susan's relationship to the point where the more soapy aspects bogged down the main story.

My favourite episode is "Ninety Percent Proof" - an episode where he was single!
