Very close to the bone
Just saw "Always leave 'em laughing" last night.
OMG, what a scarily creepy episode. I shuddered my way through it, thinking of parallels with recent events. A fabulous performance from Ricki Fulton, and a young Jo Whalley (Edge of Darkness and The Singing Detective).
A question though. What were the chances of a conviction? Even with his wife testifying? The extortion sting would make it very difficult for a jury to believe the girl in this case; they'd already said as much. A jury may well have decided that this time he didn't attack her, whatever previous suspicions his wife may have had.
Anyway, loving seeing some of the episodes again, I'd forgotten some of them.
