We took some lovely family holidays there when the kids were young. Sunny, hot but familiar shops so no worries about having to take the right nappies/wipes and so-on! Gorgeous beaches, lots to do, great food. And lots of thought-provoking history and museums to explore. It's shocking how few people in the UK know the Channel Islands were occupied during the war. The episode with the former SS officer is one that I always remember, for the questions it raises - "what would you have done in Jim's place?"?".
I even did the Bergerac tour, and had my photo take by that car , complete with cut-out of Jim himself (I kid you not)!
The guide was great too, we had a quiz on the coach, things like what was the name of the character played by Liza Goddard. Great fun if you're prepared to join in.
