Where's the DVD? Even a bare bones edition?

I realize this film is not universally well-received (for many reasons), or even that well-known to the masses, but it did star several well-known actors, and quite simply, the storyline is intriguing and original. For a campy, 80's B-movie, there are far, far worse films in DVD circulation.

I'll never expect to see this film released in glorious anamorphic widescreen, loaded with extras, sporting crystal clear 5.1 surround sound. Please. One could hope, but I won't hold my breath.

I'm really glad to find others who appreciate the film, albeit we're a small fanbase. Here's hoping Without Warning'll see DVD life one day.

A Note for those who go to superstrangevideo...It is an Illegal copy from a video
tape. There is no protection tho. $20 for a bootleg is a little annoying!! Talk about Bare Bones! What a Joke! So, I informed the FBI.

If you purchased it or even viewed it, you are liable as well.

Wrong on both counts, got mine from a "Legal DVD".

I got my copy at this link below. It is the uncut version. I think the cut version omits a short scene with the scoutmaster and scouts. A foreign, possibly Japanese or Finnish version, may omit the scene where the teens arrive at the gas station and meet Joe Taylor (Jack Palance).

Thats where I got mine. It cost 30.00 and it took about 6 weeks to get. I'm happy with it though.

I own a nice quality DVD-R of this underrated sci-fi/horror treat which I purchased at a horror convention for fifteen bucks.

I enjoy keeping busy. Satan finds work for idle hands.

I don't think that it was ever released on DVD or VHS.

Go to Criterion and ask them to work on Satyajit Ray films, a good Kwaidan rerelease.

reply

in the UK it was released by Guild Home Video on VHS Beta & Videodisc format.
i have the UK videodisc of this 80s sci fi horror on a budget.
The yukkie flying tentacled things are a work of such a disgusting imagination and are truly repulsive.
Thankyou!

For those talking about being implicated in anything illegal... This movie has never been released on a video format in america, which makes voids that copyright law until whatever company owns it decides to release it.

I, for one, would love to see a whole release for it. Complete with interviews and maybe tributes to both Jack Pallance and Kevin Hall... A featurette about the conections to Predator would also be great.

Why no one has released it is beyond me. Far worse movies exist on DVD.

This Euro-DVD was just released, but you need an all-region DVD player to watch it (very cheap on Amazon, etc., and by cheap I mean like 30 bucks), I've ordered many rare DVD's from these guys in the past, super reliable (and NOT a bootleg BTW): http://www.elektrocity.ch/en/demnaechst/798-alien-shock-cover-a.html

Thanks for the info KREEPY, just ordered mine after watching the old UK Guild VHS tape again.
