atmospheric

I saw this movie when it first came to video at a party at my friends house when I was about 9. It scared us all so much that we had nightmares for months. I just watched it again and I have to say that it still creeps me out. It is well written and quite atmospheric. I am rejoining the cult as of now.

I think a lot of the credit should to Dean Cundey, whose cinematography made the most of many tiny budgets during the early part of his career.

Agreed. Cundey also helmed the cinematography for Halloween (1978) before this, so you know what a fine talent he is. In the new DVD/Blu-Ray release, he mentions he wore a very heavy steady-cam for Without Warning( 1980) which unfortunately damaged his back for life.
