I think this is the movie I was looking for.

I posted this in another area just a bit ago but then came here. The post was this...tell me if this sounds right...I didn't remember the creature throwing them and I thought they had tentacles not fangs, but it's been 25+ years since I've seen it:

I got here because of searching for a movie I remember seeing probably '79-'81 on HBO. I don't think it's The Boogens. I don't remember much, but I think near the beginning there's this man (middle aged maybe) who's out by a creek in a field and he gets attacked by this thing. It is flat and kinda round and probably 5-8 in. in diameter, but it has these tentacles that go into people. I think they attach themselves to their faces. Tentacles maybe get 2 ft. long. Any ideas? There's more than 1 and I think they might be alien creatures.
