LOOK CAREFULLY...SPOT THE ALIEN!!!

I have no idea if Greydon Clark threw this in as a (lets see if anyone can spot this) sort of gag....but here goes!!

When the scouts master walks up to the caravan and starts banging on the door asking for help, he heres a strange noise and turns around, at this time the camera pans over to the bushes and trees. If you look closely to the middle of the screen you will see a figure behind a bush with its big bald head...the next time the camera pans over to the trees it is gone.....trust me guys and gals take a look but be aware you may have to look numerous times to spot this!! If anybody takes the time to do this let me know what you think.

Thanks

Saw this in the theatre and it was more obvious due to the size of the image. Slightly cheezy but still spooky effect.

reply

WOW yeh I can imagine it must have been easier to spot. So am I right then in thinking that was definately the alien?

the alien looks super imposed in the shot. i watched it at least 10 times in a row.

reply

Well spotted mr flanagan! It took me a few goes to see it - but its there. Kind of makes the edit of the two shots make sense.

Am I the only person in the wotrld who prefers this to predator? ha ha - same story and everything...

reply

No, I like it better as well.

Scary that two state governors came out of PREDATOR. Tarah Nutter for President!

reply

No no no Shargraves you are certainly not alone. This movie is far better than Predator. If you ever want any info on this film visit Greydon Clarks website, you can email him and he has always got back to me very quickly!! AMAZIN FILM!!

I saw this in the theater when it was released. on a big screen you can plainly see it was there. i have pointed this out to everyone i know since it aired on hbo back in 81.

and yes, it is a much better film than Predator.

reply

I love this movie and I hated "Predator"

Damn, that alien looks funny.

Cool.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

Spotted! I watched the MGM HD version on cable and saw this. nice! It's hard to spot on my grainy DVDR bootleg.
By the way, the HD version sure makes one wish a legit DVD or Blu Ray were available with lots of extras, interviews, various trailers and such.

There's apparently a combo DVD / Blu-Ray set coming out this month (August 2014).

Great pic. Although when I have emailed Greydon Clark on his website, he denies the alien being there!!!

Yes, it even takes one or two steps forward, in the movie. It's in a part of the screen, that you'll miss it, if you're not paying attention.

reply

What I wanna know is, where the hell did it go?????

Looks like it's you big boy!!.......Zed, Pulp Fiction

reply

Well at first, it was hidden, in the tall grass. When it made it's weird sound, Larry Storch turned around, and looked but didn't quite spot it. It moved a step or two forward. When Larry Storch moved towards the direction of the sound, it hid further into the reeds.

It's a pretty spooky scene.

reply

Yes that's as it would appear. Although when I emailed Greydon Clark about the scene on his website, he denied the alien being there, saying he didn't have KPH available at the time. I am baffled!!!

Perhaps cinematographer Dean Cundey and crew pulled a practical joke on Greydon Clark, using the alien costume. He is known for such stuff, like when they made the actor playing Michael Myers in the original Halloween do the scene with Myers on the roof of the car at the sanitarium in the freezing rain for an overly long time.

reply

You know I always had that thought in my head. I.e. was it one of the crew messing around. The thing is, on the old dark VHS versions it is really hard to spot, however, on the new DVD/Blue ray covers it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Ha, it's been exactly one year and one day since this great thread was active, so here I go bumping it to the top!

I really want the Blu Ray but it is region A1 and it will not play here in the UK. Unless I buy a multi-region Blu Ray player...............

I'm afraid we're gunna need cover sheets on all TPS reports now. Did you get that memo?
