How about a sequel???
"Used Cars" needs a sequel. I would love to see them follow-up on the characters. I know Jack has since passed on, but there should be enough there to take these characters to the next level.

shareTOTALLY AGREE! This is the MOST overlooked movie in history. Russell should make it a point to see that the sequal gets done. The main players besides Warden are still around - why not? Low budget probably about 5 to 10 mil (low these days) - it would be great!
shareI don't mind a sequel, as long as it's not a remake of the original.
shareI wouldn't mind a sequel either. But you know after 28 years, it seems like a longshot.
shareA sequel would be great. There is so much more material today given gas prices, pimping rides etc. that Used cars 2 could be a really funny film.
Agreed that the only way it would work is with the priniciple cast intact.
The Warden character wouldn't be an issue at all seeing as how used cars lot owners haven't changed much in 28 years.
I think there is a goldmine of material for a sequel.
Would it ever get a greenlight without a modern comedic talent as the star?. Probably not. Imagine a Will Farrell as the nemisis. It would completely upstage the subtle (and not so subtle) humor that made the original a classic.
Farrell is just silly. Not right at all for a sequel. This would need somebody with energy and good looks, like Kevin James. And, although Warden is gone, there are still a good crop of crusty old geezers around, like Jack Nicholson, who would be great.
shareIt would be a bomb like Blues Brothers 2000.
shareI Agree...Roy And His Son Running A Used Car Lot.. God No Will Ferrell....Just Would Have To Have A great script

Do we have to ruin it?

Absolutely NOT!!! Been far too long for any kind fo sequel. Leave the classic be, not every movie needs a damn sequel!!!!
share"How about a sequel???"
You know, the same question was asked about The Blues Brothers and they eventually crapped out Blues Brothers 2000.
