Times Square-The Musical?
Hey guys! Wanted to tell about a dream I had last night. I was vacationing in New York City, doing all your typical tourist stuff, and someone tells me that we are going to see a broadway musical based on the 1980 movie Times Square. Unfortunately, I woke up before I had a chance to see the show in my dream. What does anyone else think about this? Is this a movie that could be done on stage? I can think of a few movies that were tranlated very successfully on the broadway stage-Saturday Night Fever,Footloose, and Legally Blonde,to name some. Let me clarify one point-I have been a Times Square fan since the movie was released in 1980,have seen it numerous times since then, and never(at least not in an awake state!) have I ever watched it and said "that would make a good broadway musical!" So,since this thought only came to me in a dream,if you think the idea is crazy, don't be afraid to tell me-you won't be insulting me! For those of you who say yes,the idea could possibly work, what two, young actresses would you be able to see in the lead roles? Yes,Robin and Trini were great in their original roles, but since they are both in their 40's now, they'd be a wee bit too old for a remake! However,if they were to do a sequel to Times Square,I would definitely love to see them reprise their roles! Anyways would love to hear all thoughts on this topic! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!
