i never tire of watching this movie....when i recieved the two disc dvd set i was disapointed to see that the deleated scene featuring barbara hershey & steve railsback of which is shown in "the sinister saga of the making of the stunt man" not to be put back in the movie....after all this time with director's cuts dvds out there..&.richard rush could bring the completed film & cd soundtrack out

hi,he cut the movie to please the producers...now like many movies out there....there are theatrical versions & directors cut versions on dvds.....my point is why not put all the deleated scenes back into the movie....if you have watched the sinister saga of the making of the stunt man you will know what scenes i want putting back into the film......

shareRichard Rush was under alot of pressure from the studios to cut the movie....if you watch "the sinister saga of the making of the stuntman" he explains one deleted scene that he did'nt want to leave out...all i say is now after all these years bring a version with all the deleted scenes in out on dvd...let's face it....it as been done with "the good the bad & the ugly"...if you get chance to watch "the sinister saga of the making of the stuntman" you will get one of the best insights of the moviemaking business
shareI think the movie stands better without the deleted scene. It's far too long, the dialogue's not up to the standard of the rest, and the acting is over the top. It's more than enough that we know that Eli and the girl have been to bed together without a messy post-mortem that slows the action down.
shareHaving watched the " sinister saga of the making of the stunt man ", And on viewing the deleted scene featuring Barbara Hershey & Steve Railsback i have wanted to see this scene in a director's cut . this could be rereleased on dvd with the director's cut on one side & the theartrical version on the other side..along with the cd soundtrack in a special packaged set...i know the scene did'nt do much for you ..but there could be other stunt man fans who would like to see the scene included
share...I just attended a screening of Freebie and the Bean and The Stunt Man with Richard Rush there for a Q and A.
He said the deleted scene was the "hardest scene to film" and that he really wanted it in the film, but that the movie played better without it. He said he didn't want to put it back into the film because it's already been out for 27 years, it's already won acclaim and numerous awards and there's no sense altering it this late in the game. It is what it is.
He also said his next project was going to be called Fat Lady and that it would deal with the Iran/Contra scandal. Just giving his fans a heads-up.
