The Blu-ray is great...

looks good, though some grain in the first reel but no big deal. Good bonus features and the audio is solid. For a modestly budgeted flick from 1980 you can't expect too much, but it's a great film and this is the best presentation we've ever seen of it. Overall, a must own if you love this classic movie.

Is there any different special features on the blu ray disc? Than on the standard 2 disc set?

Good question... still galleries, director's notes and the script are not carried over from the DVD, but there are several additions that are noteworthy. These new extras are HD interviews and Q&A's with pretty much all of the principal cast and crew involved in the making of the movie. You can read about them in great detail here: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/49312/stunt-man/ ...probably a good idea to hang on to your DVD for the extras that didn't make the blu-ray, but the blu-ray has new features that definitely make it worth the time and money.

Thanks. Was wondering about getting this one.

I have one big complaint -- the music during cameron's attempted escape in the dusenburg and again at the end as they argue about the thousand dollars, Was turned down on the DVD, and turned way down on the Blu-ray. It's essential to the overall feel of the scene. Both were more like montages, the dialogue wasn't that important. The music was an important part of the overall feel of the scene. I LOVED those scenes in the theater. Remixed like this, they don't work nearly as well.

The Blu-ray includes a second audio track of the original mix...

"For the record, the film's original mix is offered in a standard Dolby Digital 2.0 presentation."

Just switch over to audio track 2 and you'll have your louder music cue in those two places.

(note: the DVD did not include the original audio in addition to the new 5.1 mix... one upside to the Blu-ray disc as it includes both.)
