Great movie but
Loved Peter loved BARBARA... Railsback was not meant for this film. He's just too psychotic and good for films that has a psychotic story. Not his fault just the way he is... Don't know why they chose him.

shareNah, that was why it worked. The whole film is about perception - and your perception is that Railsback is a little nuts. Had this been shot with Barry Bostwick you would have been more trusting of what the film showed as his version of events. They were trying to clue you in from the very beginning that things weren't what they seemed.

Beans are evil. Bad, bad beans.
One of the smartest things they did was start with Railsback bearded and look like he did in Helter Skelter, then shaving the beard and dying his hair (which made him look like himself, as it were) literally getting the Manson association out of the way.
It is not our abilities that show who we truly are...it is our choices
I agree up to a point, he seems to smile when he should be angry and vice-versa, so you can't seem to work out what he is thinking or feeling.
