pretty bad.

except for an excellent Peter O'Toole and some interesting insight into stunt work, this isn't worthy of Saturday afternoon TV. The music is a clunky failure and Railsback is likely the worst casting decision in any movie. Crazy eyed lunatic yet women were throwing themselves at him and he always had a comeback. Yeah not buying that at all...

I promised someone I would watch it because they claimed it is an underrated masterpiece. In my opinion it's the work of someone high on acid and possibly the worst film I've ever seen.

I'm a Peter O'Toole fan and I've never even heard of this til it came up on these boards.

It isn't a bad movie as some are claiming. It was decent in its day but it is a bit dated today as lots of movie rely much more on CGI than they do real stunts so you may find yourself saying they would never do that for a movie because today they wouldn't they would just film some people in front of a green screen and then have some CG studio make the shot. But in the late 70's when it was made it was probably much more plausible.

And if you like O'Toole you'll probably enjoy the movie simply for him... If I'm not mistaken he was even nominated for an Oscar for his performance in this film. I know it had some nominations because the only way I ever heard of it was from seeing it nominated. After that I had to search it out because apparently the marketing for the movie was pretty crappy.
