Him stumbling getting on the horse..
Was anyone else disturbed by that? I was like, oh damn buddy, please stay off horses!

shareRewatching now and definitely felt that uncomfortableness.
shareWhen did he get on the horse by the way? Don't remember that bit.
Yes, it saddens me a great deal what happened to Christopher Reeve. To my generation, he will always be *the* Superman and we love him. I'm glad he did Somewhere in Time as it gave him a chance to show his acting skills in a different context. He produces a deeply sympathetic character... whereas many actors would have come off mawkish. Without a doubt, he would have done many other great films, but that said, his high profile accident helped secure a lot more funding for research into spinal injuries, so it was not all in vain.

It's not "sci-fi", it's SF!
I think the OP meant as he was getting into the wagon or buggy, or whatever you call it, and the horse moved and he had to climb in uncertainly. It did make me think of his accident and the tragedy.
As to research and spinal cord injury healing, I know there are a lot of Billionaires sitting on their money so if they'd contribute the cure could be found a lot faster.
"Did you make coffee...? Make it!"--Cheyenne.
YES!!! When Richard wakes with the horse standing over him, I cringed.
shareMaybe I can imagine myself going back in time so I can warn Christopher Reeve to stay off horses.
shareExactly! THAT is the creepy scene. I'm surprised more people haven't commented on it. Reeve's character has suffered physical violence, and when he regains consciousness, he's on the ground, practically under that horse (who looks around at him), and he's bound, so that (at first) he *can't move.*
It's almost eerie, in retrospect.
