my fave movie of all time.
This is, has been and will always be my favorite movie. It is exquisitely acted. The music is hauntingly beautiful. The ending gets me every single time.

shareI Have As Well,Every Since I First Saw It On TV Back When I Was Only 18.This Movie Has The Most Beautiful Musical Score,The Greatest I've Ever Heard. I Might Be A Hopeless Romantic,But I've Always Dreamt Of The Day When I'd Find My True Love,And Prayed To God That One Day I'd Find My Own Elise.I Never Did,Sad To Say,Although I Have Settled Down.It Took Me 42 Years To Do So,Desperately Wanting Something I Could Never Have, I Suppose. There Is Nothing More Beautiful Than When Two Souls Meet,Destined For One Another By God,Knowing In Their Hearts A Peace That Transcends Time Itself.Although I Dearly Love This Movie With All My Heart,I Can Not Help But Be Saddened At What Could Have Been.May Those That Find True Love Remember,Not All Of Us Do.
sharedare i say overuse of capital letters??
shareTablet cap lock problem. This you post about ? That was your contribution ? What are you a Doctor of ? Grammatical Critique ? What a moron.
100% Comic Book Purist, and Bloody Proud of it !
Looks like the tablet has a keyboard text setting what is called Title Case, where every word automatically starts with a capital letter. Yours was likely set to that.
shareNot only the capital letters, but the spaces before the question marks. Is that how comic books are formatted? I haven't read one since I was thirteen.
shareI guess you daren't. LOL

"How was the war, sir?"
"As any war, ma'am, a waste of good men." (Poldark)
Mine too. I was only five when I first saw this but it captured me even then. Something about it haunted me through out my entire childhood. Great movie!
~Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable~
I was about 5 or six as well.. Loved this movie at first sight...
I also heard Colin Powell say this is his all time favorite film as well.
Interesting! It is one romantic movie that has a lot of male fans, too. Notting Hill is another one.

Ever since I first saw Somewhere in Time as a young girl, I've been smitten by it. This very film is responsible for making me a hopeless romantic. The critics got it all wrong. Such a beautiful film.
shareMine as well. I have worn out 2 vcr tapes, given away 1 DVD, and now own a second one.
shareI rented this in 1982 because the title intrigued me. I'm not a fan of romantic movies typically. I remember being unfocused as I started the movie, multitasking. When the opening scene became very quiet, I paid attention, "Come back to me..." I stopped what I was doing and watched this amazing movie with the most beautiful score I'd ever heard. Like so many of you, I felt a connection with this movie in a manner that I hadn't experienced and possibly haven't since.
shareI remember accidentally watching this movie as a 17 yr old. It has stayed with me ever since. The music, the story, the location, That Kiss!
I still absolutely adore the movie and consider it one of the best love stories around. The ending still results in quite a few tissues being used. I want to experience the kind of pure love and passion like Richard and Elise had. And, oh, THAT KISS...Now, that is a good kiss!

This is my favorite Christopher Reeve movie.
shareIt's a great sad romantic story, but the movie definitely feels late 70s/early 80s with that annoying soft-focus camera lens technique in both the present and past scene sequences. That's one of my pet peeves with so many good movies from the 70s and 80s is the soft-focus technique to imply an older time to the audience. I guess it was just the accepted aesthetic at the time because when you look at old family and individual portrait photos a lot of them use the same lighting technique.
