Amityville Horror and Halloween?

Halloween (1978) and The Amityville Horror (1979) both are horror classics and came out while The Shining would have been in production. They also contain themes and elements that also are present in the Shining. Was Kubrick inspired by these films when making The Shining?

I could see Kubrick watching Amityville and thinking, my movie actually needs to be scary.

More like less over the top. A lot of over the top parts in Amittyville Horror make me laugh.
