I agree still effective after all that time

reply

Yes it is very effective and it remains in your head after 29 years. The other SCANNERS movie continues with this effect as well from what I can remember.

It has been a long time since I have seen Wayne's World, but I do believe you are correct that Garth mentions about it in the film.

Oh I bet they do not catch the reference all right from Scanners. LOL That is a good one all right!

One of the only good parts in the movie. Scanners wouldn't still be talked about as much as it is without that scene.

reply

Yes it was a very good part in the movie to be honest with you. Yes the exploding head is what made Scanners famous and spoken about for many years all right.

Last month I just completed my first film script called THE POSSESSION OF INNOCENCE. I have a Facebook page under the title of the movie. If you would like to find out who has been casted for the movie then check it out under the title of the movie. Thank you for your time, help, and support.

That scene is one of the greatest anti-CGI arguments in Hollywood history. If they ever remade Scanners it would definitely suck.

reply

Yeah, that and the werewolf transformation in American Werewolf in London

reply

So true. I saw this movie as a sneak preview so I had no warning this scene was going to occur.

reply

A classic scene.

I rewound that bit and watched it again.

For me it always just seems to happen. It always seems unexpected. It was a really big deal back in the day and the effect still works well today.

That's the great thing about a good physical effect. Same goes with the ending of The Fury.
