A Scanners remake...

I wouldn't mind a Scanners remake, but it has to appeal to today's audiences. The new Scanners movie will definitely be much less horror based and more of a superhero comic book sci-fi adventure along the lines of X-Men and The Avengers.

The main character would be some good looking guy in his early to mid 20s instead of an olderish drifter in the original. His love interest would probably be a fellow scanner, but again a girl in her early 20s.

There will be much more CGI effects, lots of action, chase scenes, and explosions.

The remake won't have the raw power or grotesque violence of the original though.

A lot of themes from the original Scanners are relevant in today's society and can carry over to the remake.

Revok will probably be similar in the remake to the original.

Basically, the Scanners remake is going to downplay the horror elements and be much more superheroish.

Ah forget it, watch X-Men if you want to see an unofficial remake of Scanners.

Sarcastic? Yeah, kinda actually. Funny enough.

I guess my point is that if a Scanners remake was made, it's gonna be more superhero based with less horror and not much gore drenching.

I don't think there's any realistic way to remake Scanners without essentially turning it into an X-Men clone. I mean superhero movies are the hot trend right now and Hollywood executives are gonna force the filmmakers of the Scanners remake to go in that direction.

Let's be real, you've ever seen Teen Wolf, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, all those CW shows. The Scanners remake is gonna be just like that. The executives are also wanna have the Scanners remake appeal to the tween, adolescent, and millennial crowd so you know they are gonna have good looking twentysomethings playing the main scanners. Hell, you can cast Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev as Vale and Obrist respectively! Nina Dobrev even bares a striking resemblance to Jennifer O'Neill!

And quite frankly, if you think I'm kidding around, look at the friggin' Robocop remake! Scanners remake is probably gonna be PG-13 too!

What are you talking about? Scanners has nothing to do with any superhero bs.
It was a great sci-fi/thriller and if they remade it I dont see why it would have to appeal to idiotic teens who dont even know that it`s a remake. Why turn it into an action movie with some pretty boy and hot girl who cant act?
Superhero movie??? Get real. Dont they already have enough superhero movies?
So why turn Scanners into something that its not ??

And Im not angry with you, Im pissed at the system.
Why do the studios make movies for stupid tweens who`s never seen a movie thats older that 1999?? Why dont they make movies for people who actually love movies???

The movie you are describing, smakdaddy, i.e. superhero, comic-based film with lots of special effects, action, chase scenes, explosions, and a good-looking couple having a love affair ....

That is NOT a "remake" of Scanners!

This film doesn't need a remake. It's fine the way it is.

A Scanners remake should remain faithful to the original and, at least, have a cameo role for Michael Ironside.
