I think you should watch the whole thing. I was wary of seeing it after I saw the reviews, but when I saw it I thought it was one of the most underrated films ever made. The raising of the Titanic is breath taking!

You would probably want to fast forward through the whole film. This picture is not meant for the typical 21st Century teenager equiped with the lastest cell phone/portable video game technology. You might want to try a film like the Posideon remake filled with 5% story, 95% special effects. That should cure their short attention spans as well.

Watch it yourself first! Not only was the period knowledge of the Titanic proved incorrect, it is a pretty clunky film by today's standards and pretty slow-paced

I'm 17 and I watch it!!!

Hi Brad. You'd be better off showing your class A Night To Remember (1958). This is a straight forward telling of the Titanic disaster without any additions. It's based on Walter Lord's book of the same name and had as I remember Second Officer Lightoller as a technical adviser. It's a British film but I think you should be able to get a copy in the US.

The best bit of Raise The Titanic is at the end when they raise her but the rest of it is a bit dodgy. I do like the film but it does have a very slight story also I don't think it would be particularly useful from an historical point of view as we know now that the Titanic didn't go down in one piece.

It's definatly a saturday afternoon doesn't matter if you doze through half of it film. :0)
