I first got into the Titanic when I was six. At my old school, we had a whole week devoted to the Titanic alone. Having seen 'S.O.S. Titanic' and 'A Night to Remember', my dad then introduced me to 'Raise the Titanic!'.
I admit that a lot of the film is dull, poorly written and not very well acted. And 'Raise the Titanic' is NOT one of my favourite films. But as a young Titanic fan, seeing the Titanic rising out of the water in this film...
What Titanic fan WOULDN'T want to walk the decks of the Titanic, years later? Look up at the cracked dome like Dirk Pitt did and walk up the grand staircase? It's the stuff of dreams. That's why this film means so much for me. A lot of people won't get that...
See this film if only for those scenes. It'll be worthwhile for that alone.
