Despite the newspaper article detailing the raising of the Titanic in the film's credits sequence, there is really nothing to compare. Personally, I enjoy both movies for what they are, but if you want some real adventure and non-stop action, read the novels. Trust me, the film adaptations of both Raise the Titanic and Sahara faintly scratch the surface of the novels.

Science flew people to the Moon, religion flew people into buildings.

I would agree SAHARA was a better moive. Just more fun. But the two are very different, that one is a silly Indiana Jones/James Bond sort of action hybrid. RAISE is like a exploration, maybe slight political thriller kind of movie.

Raise The Titanic felt like a more grown up kind of Tech Thriller.Sahara was like a silly Indiana Jones movie.
