Okay, so the movie was kinda... well, bad, but... the scene where the Titanic finally pops out of the water - in a way, you have to admit how creepy that is.

I didn't find the scene at all creepy. It was awe inspiring. Made one wonder if RMS Titanic really could be raised back to the surface. A short five years later, all hopes were dashed when Titanic was found split in two. Don't think we have the technology to engage in that undertaking.

Whats more creepy is how badly this thread has turned out, with all the deletions!!

But I agree Diana, that it was an impressive set of scenes where the ship itself was resurfaced, and I also wonder if this could ever be done nowadays. Sadly, I doubt it and would it really be worth all the money it would obviously cost ?

The wreck is structurally weak and continues to deteriorate. Any attempts to raise it would most likely destroy it.

Is the Titanic not yet sufficiently messed up to be considered "destroyed"?
I should think that big-ass hole in the side pretty much fills the definition, no?
How unusable does something have to be?
