In the movie Jake has two wives (the first one supposedly named Irma), but google returns nothing meaningful (just a few references to movie) when I search for "Irma LaMotta". Wikipedia entry for Jake LaMotta doesn't mention her either.
Did his first wife (the one he argued with about a steak early in the movie) really exist or was she Scorsese's imagination?
According to his Wikipedia entry the 92 year old LaMotta (yes, he's still kicking despite all that punishment in the ring) is currently married to his seventh wife.
Vicki who divorced him in 1962 is the wife referred to mostly in his (1970) autobiography, which was the basis for the movie.
So yes there was a real first wife before Vicki and you'd be justified in concluding, (as he does himself) that he's a difficult person with which to live.
This means Jake's imdb profile should definitely be updated as his biography section currently lists only Vicki LaMotta as his spouse. Is there any info on his first wife available on the internet? Is she alive? How long have they been married?

If that's the case I guess it should be. I didn't look at the imdb profile.
I don't know much about the current status of the first wife, but if you dig deep enough online I'm sure you'll find something or someone else will come along and post here.
