does a 16:9 version exist on dvd?

I have the domestic Region1 release, and while it does look pretty good, the colors are muted and muddy and the picture is NOT anamorphically enhanced as the back states (Warner Brothers has been notorious for this; OUTLAND and other dvds they put out are NOT 16:( as advertised).

I purchased the NINTH CONFIGURATION from the UK, but sadly it is not anamorphic either (while it does seem a little more colorful, the transfer has more grain and problems with PAL conversion stutter).

Does anyone know if this movie is out on dvd 16:9 in Spain, Japan, Australia or any other country? It deserves a much better treatment than what was given here in the US.
