The talking head riff in Rennie Harlin's Exorcist Prequel.

It's on record that Blatty did not like "Exorcist The Beginning" and prefers "Dominion" but has there ever been any comment from him about that film lifting the talking head dream from "The Ninth Configuration"?

Blatty kicks himself to this day for selling the rights to "The Exorcist" characters to Morgan Creek but surely they don't have the rights to rip off films they haven't paid for?

I find it hard to believe that he would have liked either film. Exorcist: the Beginning was simply awful - it felt like a really bad attempt at remaking an Indiana Jones movie where Jones has a crucifix instead of a whip. Dominion was only marginally more watchable.

Once you sell the rights to your characters, pretty much anything goes. The studio cpuld always claim that other films unrelated to the franchise also had talking decapitated heads.
