The most depressing thing about this movie

is that not many people (relatively) have seen it....

An idea is a greater monument than a cathedral.

I've seen it.

I'll agree with you. It's one of my favorite movies that no one I know has ever heard of. Too bad the DVD really needs some fine tuning (there has to be a better transfer of it somewhere).

reply

I loved it great movie very moving.

Yet how very fortunate we are to have seen it – and that we have each other. ;-)

I would agree with the first part.

The other problem with this film is that the DVD release has very poor audio/visual quality. Perhaps someday they'll have a new edition with higher-budget editing. The grainy images and crackling, static-riddled sound really gets in the way at times.

Hopefully it is now out on Blu-Ray it will be seen more. I hadn't even heard of it last week - and now it is one of my favorite movies.

Agreed.

I first saw it many years ago, recommended by someone who was a film buff and whose tastes I respected. He told me nothing about it, except it was great and he thought I'd like it.

Watched it with my boyfriend. 10 minutes in, I thought my friend was nuts. My boyfriend and I were exchanging WTH looks. Luckily I kept with it, and it became one of my shortlist favorites.

But I've never met anyone else who's seen it. Recommended it plenty of times.

Couldn't agree more. My favorite movie. Endlessly memorable dialog which makesyou think. Wish there were more movies like this.
