It's not a Horror movie
This is the kind of movie that people who don't watch horror movies would call a horror movie, when in reality, it is NOT really a horror movie.
"I don't give a fu*k about your war or your President."
It's a "psychological thriller" without the thrills. It's Blatty's self-indulgent, overlong exploration of "the Mystery of Good and Evil" and not much else.
