Matt Dillon aka 'Randy' was so hot and cold in this movie...

Seriously, his mood swings made me dizzy, lol. He would be so angry with her one second, and so nice and considerate in the blink of an eye. I realize he was getting frustrated with her in parts and thought she used him in the bet for a brief amount of time, but still. That bugged me a little I guess. Otherwise, good movie...haven't seen it for years and just watched it again.

I think as adults, it probably makes us feel that way, but I think those mood swings during teenaged years, especially where love and sex are involved, are very common. I believe it's written as a fairly accurate portrayal of what teenagers feel before and after having sex.

I agree. Kristy's character was just as batty, just like Matt's character indicated....all over him one minute, and so cold the next! That would drive a horny 15 year old boy nuts!

He was good looking. Thought their pairing was perfect.

I agree, they had great chemistry. Even in their first scene, they seemed really at ease with each other. And the moment she blew that bubble (he popped it then put the gum in his mouth), I think Dillon improvised that, as she looked genuinely surprised when he did it.

When LD was released, critics were way too hard on it. I feel it's quite a good movie
