TCM airing

Did anyone else watch it on TCM recently? Did you notice that they cut scenes from the movie? I appreciate TCM airing this film, but they advertise that they air films uncut. Maybe this will be re-aired if enough fans go to www.tcm.com/support and tell them you want to see an uncut version of this film.

I've only seen it on TV, so from that perspective, I didn't notice anything cut. But I also haven't seen this in like 25 years, so my memory is probably pretty faulty. it's just a miracle to even see this film aired at all these days.

My "#3" key is broken so I'm putting one here so i can cut & paste with it.

The scenes cut were the one where Angel rescues Ferris in the lake and tells her tyo get over her mom leaving, the one where the camp director cuts them from the talent show and Cinder acuses Mr Callahan of sleeping with Ferris, and the one where they all go and confess to the camp director about their contest.

But aren't those scenes from the "television version" which replaced the more graphic subject matter with "family friendly" moments like the lake scene, etc... TCM aired the theatrical cut of the film as I remember it, with complete soundtrack songs intact.

Wiki: "An alternate version of Little Darlings was made for TV which had all the sex-related scenes and dialogue removed, giving the impression that, instead of trying to lose their virginity, Angel and Ferris were merely trying to make a guy fall in love with them. The deleted scenes were replaced with leftover footage not seen in the film version, including a scene in which Angel rescues Ferris from drowning in the lake. Some additional music was also used in this version."

Really? I didn't know they added scenes when they showed it on TV. I never saw this in theaters. I remember watching it on TV and it was always obvious that they were competing to lose their virginity. To me it seems that the scenes they cut created confusion in some of the uncut scenes.

During the 1980's, network television was notorious for using cutting room floor footage to replace adult content in movies they aired. TCM does not cut films ever. They aired the original theatrical version intact. I'm old. I saw it in the theater and I had the very first incarnations of cable in the early 80's (i.e. ON-TV/SelectTV). This was before HBO, etc... They aired Little Darlings and Foxes constantly. I know this film very well. TCM showed the original version.

Yeah, the TCM version was the original theatrical (and, in my opinion, superior) version. They did not "cut" anything. That was a great night of TV with this, "Stand By Me" and "Last Summer" airing in the same line-up on TCM. They rock!

I hope TCM gives us another chance to watch this one soon since it isn't available on tv.

that HDTV version is the best I've seen. It was from The Movie Channel HD.

Tell me about this Usenet and how I can watch this on it...very curious!

Last Summer (1969) was aired as the cut version by TCM. I have the uncut version on a bootleg DVD and the last scene was definitely cut. Still, TCM usually does it right. One of my favorite networks.

Showing this in Japan right now. Little Darlings translates as 'Ritoru Daringu' here. 16:9 HD. I've never seen this, hilarious. And, i'm Randy. Don't let the name fool you.
