Any military buffs know what make/model the Italien tanks were in this film?

If I remember correctly they were French(?) Renaults, or an Italian variant of.

No, sorry. Definately NOT Renaults.

When I saw them onscreen, they looked to me like Renault FT-17s, because that is a very well known model, but looking at some pictures online, they would appear to be more similar to Fiat 3000s, which were used in Libya. I am guessing the ones in the movie were specially made replicas.
