Were the Aldeberanians an inspiration for the Vorlons of Babylon 5? Encounter suits, different atmosphere, can't see what they really look like, weird language, etc.

Dont know if they were the influence for Babylon 5 although there is definitely a huge similarity.
There is also a strong similarity to the aliens in the New York episode of Heaby Metal. The aliens in both the Heavy Metal episode and the Lathe of heaven are seen as hot dog vendors so is almost certain one influenced the other.
I thought so too but some how I can't see Ulkesh selling hot dogs.
