Stephen Lack as George Orr

I could swear that it was Stephen Lack(from Cronenberg's "Scanners") that played George Orr, not the Bruce Davison guy IMDB credits as playing Orr. Can someone back me up on this, or tell me if I'm wrong?

reply

ummm.. you're wrong.

You must have been dreaming... Either that or Bruce Davison effective dreamed his role as the effective dreamer. I was in high school when I saw it in 1980 when this was first broadcast on PBS, it's been Bruce Davison the entire time.

For years I thought it was William Katt. They look very much alike and have the same kind of demeanor. I also kept remembering Olivia Cole as playing Heather instead of Margeret Avery. They had the same hair style and she was in so many things in the 70's.

Nope, it wasn't Lack. 'Scanners' is the only thing I've ever noticed Lack in.

Bruce Davison had the distinction of starring in two extraordinary made-for-tv films around that time, the other being
The Wave (1981)

Both of them made Davidson a memorable actor for me.

Well, there were two versions of this movie: The Lathe of Heaven, in 1980 (Bruce Davison, not Davidson), and Lathe of Heaven (missing the "The"), in 2002 (
Philip Haas)... but Stephen Lack was in neither.
