"grow bigger, faster and twice as plentiful!"

One thing that always makes me laugh is the declaration from the CanCo guy at the Salmon Festival that the science Dr. Susan Drake is working on will make the salmon "grow bigger, faster and twice as plentiful".

The first and third I get, but why would you want to make the salmon faster?

People grow bored of watching horses, dogs, and cars race. The prospects of watching fish race, by contrast, is something novel

Grow faster as in mature faster.

Good point. Would have been more clear if he'd said "grow bigger, grow faster..." but he said, "grow bigger, faster...".

I didn't even think of it as the rate of growth rather than speed.
