Jim Hill's bolt-action rifle shoots off 12 shots without reloading
When Jim Hill (Doug McClure), Johnny Eagle (John Pena), and Dr. Drake (Ann Turkel) stumble upon a nest of the fish monsters hidden on secluded bend of the rocky coastline, the fish monsters attack them.
Jim Hill is carrying a bolt-action carbine, probably Johnny's since Johnny is now carrying only a rubber spear gun.
Jim dispatches three of the fish monsters with great difficulty since it takes an average of three shots to kill one monster. Jim does this without reloading and his bolt-action carbine shows no large capacity magazine. Bolt-actions typically use an internal, five-round magazine. External or detachable magazines are rare, the most notable being the British World War I and II bolt-action Enfields. It's a good thing Jim's bolt-action has a magical large capacity or he can reload it real fast in mere seconds.
By comparison, when a fourth fish monster appears, Johnny's spear gun kills the slimy beast with its one short steel spear arrow.
