Jeff Bridges?
Hi, just wondering how big his role is in this film?
Thanks.
Do you have monkeys in Scotland?
~No, but if we did we'd probably deep fry them!

It's fairly large. The fourth biggest character behind Kristoferson, Walken and Huppert.
And he's always been very proud of his work in the movie, if that counts for something.
Cool, sounds good. Thank you!

Another thing to note: Jeff Bridges managed to get the leading role for Cutter's Way only because UA, after seeing the dailies, was confident this film was going to give his career the boost towards "star" status.
shareHe is the only actor worth watching in the movie.
shareFunny how some guy's post on another Subject of this movie's board said "Jeff Bridges just seems to be part of the production design" and further implied that the characters weren't fully fleshed out.
That's almost valid considering the atmosphere and the visuals are ultimately what "Heaven's Gate" is about and like "The Thin Red Line" it uses the form and the surface to get its point across at the expense of ever turning into a study of archtypal characters (like for instance "Saving Private Ryan").
Busey+Boll=Match made in heaven
Thanks for sharing Smiley. I think Cimino hoped it would be about more than the set design/art direction. For some reason, I think a weak screenplay mostly, this movie reveals Cimino's weakness or simply inexperience as a director. It's not as bad as critics made out, but the film is not that interesting as a story and the great cinematography and sets (and decent music) really bring out it faults. The acting is very weak, IMHO, except for Bridges...although, I agree, the characters were not well drawn to begin with. I have a tiny bit of curiosity about seeing the 2-1/2 hr version, just to see how Cimino and the studio decided to "fix" poor Heaven's Gate". I found the doc FINAL CUT very interesting and hits the nail on the head about the whole situation. Take it easy, Smiles
I always felt his part was more supporting and even at the time I felt he would had a bigger role in the film.
Its that man again!!
