Wild Bill Elliott, Gabby Hayes and Ben Johnson

The tv movie The Invasion of Johnson County was much better AND shorter. There was also a version with Burt Reynolds. But does anybody remember Wyoming starring Wild Bill Elliott, Gabby Hayes and Vera Hruba Ralston?

With those leads it had to be a Republic western, of course. Elliott is the big rancher determined to keep the nesters out of Wyoming, and his daughter chooses to side with John Carroll. Unusual role for Elliott who, in the William S Hart tradition, often played the reformed outlaw/gambler.

If you look closely you can spot Ben Johnson playing one of Elliott's ranchhands. He's so skinny, that it's easy to miss him if he stands sideways.
