I don't like the racist twist at the end
Darth Vadar is revealed to be Lukes's father. An absentee father combined with him being black is a racist stereotype. Very poor choice from George Lucas

shareYou can't be that stupid to not realize James Earl Jones is voicing what a guy who wears a breathing mask all the time sounds like.
shareBlack Lives Matter and stop portraying blacks as absentee fathers in films

Darth Vader is not black; he is a white guy wearing a black suit and just so happened to be voiced by a black actor; it literally has nothing to do with skin color. This is kind of an insane conclusion and one of the reasons many people are having a hard time taking the examples of real racism and prejudice seriously. It is the provirbial boy who cried wolf scenario; if everything is percieved and called out as 'racist' then people stop listening (dissensitization through repeat exposure).
Also, isn't fatherless homes like one of the major crisis negatively impacting the black community. Something like 65% of black children are raised in single parent (almost always the father is one that is not present). "If the father is not in the home, the boy will find a father in the streets. I saw it in my generation and every generation before me, and every one ever since. If the streets raise you, then the judge becomes your mother and prison becomes your home"
He actually is the stupidest person on IMDb!
shareWhen the satire goes over your head.
shareit is tough to tell when people are being satirical sometimes; have you not seen some of the deluded people posting on this site?
shareTrue, but this one uses an old joke that's been around since the 90's.
shareI am not familiar with the joke from the 90's but I don't think people were as sensitive back then; so a 'joke' like this would not actually 'offend' anyone. In addition to that; the cancel culture is insane right now, so it would not be that far out of reach to say something like "Star Wars is racist because the only black person is a bad guy" or "Star Wars cast was way too white". I think stuff like this is said with 100% seriousness. So the OP, if they were being satirical it would actually be hard to tell.
shareThe joke in the 90’s was to mock PC culture. It appeared first in Chasing Amy.
shareYes, back in the 80's and 90's comedians would make jokes about 'extreme' PC culture but today that extreme that was intended to be humorous is now an actual segment of the PC culture. Look at L'Oréal removing the words "lightening" and "whitening" from their skin products descriptions; because it is "offensive", I mean that is just patently ridiculous.
shareI’m not denying how ridiculous it is but I think it’s obvious the OP is trolling. Especially since he also posted a troll thread about spoiling the ending.
shareI think now that you point it out; yeah it is kind of obvious; I admit I missed it, it looked 'serious'. The point I was making though is that the reason it is hard to tell satire from authentic because the authentic outrage culture has become so off the walls insane that it is harder to tell. The OP 'could' be someone being serious, that is how ridiculous it is now.
shareYes as the OP, I am trolling
shareGood; I do feel a bit silly now not 'getting' it. But at the same time; do you get my meaning that some of the PC culture has become so hyper sensitive something like this actually could be serious. I am glad in your case it was not
shareFor reference in chasing Amy they make a joke about Darth Vader and skin colour.
shareSatire is hard work. It requires a brain.
shareDon't forget Episode I.
A cute and young white Anakin who later on grows up to become a big black motherfracker!
All 9 movies should be banned.
It's the only way to be sure!!!

Darth Vader didn't know he had kids. He probably would have been in there life more if he was told.
shareI know we are all joking now; but this actually brings up a good point. about 65% of Black children are raised without fathers; that is a serious problem. But how many of that 65% is it where the men don't even know they knocked some girls up; how many didn't stick around long enough to find out even if they impregnated a woman? How many would be willing to come and do the honorable thing and help raise their kids if they knew about them?

That is a sad story; it is so detrimental to the development and life of those children. How any person could not care about the impact their decisions has on children (especially their own) is just so incredibly selfish it is hard to even fathom.
shareYeah. I know but the real problem is the woman I mentioned is a bit mentally ill and likes to just get with bad guys who only want to have sex with her without getting to know her. Both people I mentioned, I haven't seen them in years.
shareThe tragedy is those kids basically do not stand a chance; I mean there are some inspirational stories about people that are able to rise out of that but it is almost impossible and very unlikely. This is why I give so much in charity especially to causes that help children but I still feel it is not enough (throwing money at something does not fix it).
shareYeah. It is terrible. Supposedley I have heard if a woman is impregnated by a man and the man refuses to pay child support, he can be arrested and put in prison for a while. Not that that helps the kid.
shareYeah, that doesn't really help the child or the situation but at least it is an attempt to 'force' someone to take some damn responsibility for their actions. The sad thing is, there is no real solution for the corruption of mans' souls (which I think is represented by laziness and self absorption). I don't believe in a 'sin' nature; but clearly people being selfish and awful to each other and even their own children is the result of putting themselves about others and it just being 'easier' to take care of yourself first.
shareI had a friend like that growing up. His dad cheated on his mom and they got divorced but he only paid child support every 3 months or so and she didn't want to call the cops because then he would go to jail and she would get no money. So she bit the bullet and just let him pay every few months when he "wanted to."
shareI'm really proud of you for this.
