Dr Beeper
So what’s the deal with him?

Pretty good golfer but not much for bedside manner..
When he comes out of the lake and his beeper goes off why does he look like he's having a seizure?
shareMaybe his pager uses a high voltage battery? Actually, he did get a shock off it.
Oh I see

It's called movie physics, where things happen in movies that are impossible, and I don't mean superhero stuff, just everyday happenings.
Remember in Die Hard when Bruce Willis lit the jet fuel on fire and the flame front chased down and then caught the jetliner? Jet fuel is basically kerosene. If you can get it to light with a lighter, that's impressive enough, but a lit kerosene soaked rope would have a flame front less than walking speed. A trail of leaking kerosene on tarmac wouldn't even light.
Same with the pager. Most people associate mixing water and anything electrical as presenting a shock hazard. A typical pager back in the 80s used a AAA battery and no internal buck converter to get the voltage beyond a few volts. Movie physics.
