What did the Record Man say?

After the gig at the end , when they are backstage and meet the recordman who give them the advance....

Elwood says "you know a way out?"
Record man says "Yeah , I used to be head bouncer here back in the 70s , ?

What did he say?

reply

...There's an electrical service duct right behind your drummer's riser."

Which is how they escape.

reply

aaah right , thanks , I've been wondering that for 20 or 30 years.

Now whats a drummers riser?

reply

It's a little stage set up just for the drummer and drums. There's lots of theories about how much use they are but for the purposes of this film it's a raised area with a trapdoor behind it.

Glad to have been of help Mark!

reply

Ah cos the drummers are sat down at the back , yes ive seen those .

Thanks very much :)

Bit late 4 years on, but if you get to look at a normal Theatre stage, the whole stage is angled from rear down to front. It gives a sort of false perspective and also makes things at the back less obscured by stuff at the front.

Drum riser does the same thing by lifting the kit higher so it can be seen.

Wow, did not know that about a stage!
Interesting, makes perfect sense

reply

Really? I thought everyone knew that about stages
