This movie depicted a planetkiller's destructive capabilities much better than in Star Wars, which George Lucas seemed content with showing alderaaan blow up in sparklers.

BBTS had the planet get hit by a beam, there was a hotspot, and then it just disintegrated from within.

Oh and the nuclear missiles were pretty cool, whooosh whoosh!

Both still look better than the Star Wars Special Edition "ooh, we ripped of Star Trek VI's shockwave for the re-release" nonsense, IMO.

Yeah if I see that stupid shockwave ring one more time in a movie, somebody's gonna get cut!

It's a stellar converter. it literally turns planets into suns (albeit tiny ones)
