It's just something about it that captures something profound for me. I don't understand why. Maybe its a tribute to my youth, maybe the simplicity of it. I don't get it, but it's something about this movie that makes it one of my all time favorites.
Because its an imaginative film with lots of humor, notoriously bad overacting in parts, great cameos by well known actors, a simple straightforward plot thats easy to understand, and the fact that Richard Thomas did really well despite the cheesy material he had to work with. Some movies just "click" and this one does.
