trip away

easily one of my all time favourite films.

interesting dialogue scenes, terrific black humour and truly remarkable visuals.

and does anyone think Blair Brown looks a lot like Julianne Moore?

especially in the final scenes, i'm always struck at how similar they are both in look and (more importantly) in their style of acting.

not that this film need be remade (and i say it shouldn't be), but if they did, i'd cast Julianne Moore in that role.
she'd nail it.

I haven't seen this film since I was young and it aired on television. I seem to recall something about William Hurt having visions of hell or something, and that had me worrying and scared for weeks afterward, LOL! Did this film have such visions in it, or have I gotten my memories mixed up?

OK, so what's the speed of dark?

reply

nope, this is the film.
there are his crazy "hell" hallucinations, that are right out of dante's inferno.

and then in the end blair brown becomes....over-heated-spiderman...

I really should watch it again, from an adult perspective!

I just finished watching this (for the 5th time, not in a row, obviously) And while I think it's a really good movie in and of itself... I think I watch it more for the "Nightmare Dream Sequences",. then for any clear-cut storyline. While I’m not, nor have I ever been a drug user, it’s fun to “take the trip” I especially like the religious/occult analogies.

Of course, I could just be weird, too.
