was ted knights cartoonist based off a real life
cartoonist?
shareThe show was adapted from a British series called Keep It in the Family (1980-1983). That show's writer was Brian Cooke; this is what IMDb says about him:
Brian Cooke, who had once been a cartoonist, based the series partly on his own life and partly on the lifestyle of his director friend Mark Stuart, who had a tall, thin house in Highgate and had converted the ground floor into a self contained flat for his daughter.

Another series written by Cooke was Man About the House (1973-1976). It was the basis for the American sitcom Three's Company (1976-1984).
Just curious TC, where are you watching this? I'm surprised it's still floating around. I used to enjoy it when it aired.
sharei want to watch it again. i assumed i could at least still download it from piratebay. haven’t checked yet. i brought up the show up to a friend a while ago and the other day he did mention he’s watching it. i’ll ask him when i see him next where he found it.
