It's a classic sci fi book. I don't think a movie is right, I'd love it if HBO did a big budget version of it. Like boardwalk empire but sci fi
If only HBO or SHOWTIME could be convinced to do it! Problem is, HBO is more likely to go the horror or fantasy route these days, and SHOWTIME seems uninterested in science fiction since STARGATE SG-1 and ODYSSEY 5. But imagine this story told with the same budget as, say, GAME OF THRONES...!

I've never been able to figure that out...the basic cable channels all get important serious shows. Yet they take their programming seriously. Sy-Fy has become a joke over the years, with bad b-movies going "direct to Sy-Fy" in a way that's more derogatory than "direct to video."
I wish AMC would give Martian Chronicles a 13 episode run for a mini series to do the book justice.
The 70's mini series is good, but not very well done. There's too many shots that are quite obviously on Earth. It could so well be updated and more stories done from the book with 13 episodes. Get somebody like Duncan Jones to direct it to generate buzz behind it and get good special effects (if they can get good special effects for The Bible, they can for a remake of this) and maybe a couple bigger actors and make a good run of it.
I would love to see an AMC remake done with a budget,solid actors and done with respect to R.Bradbury. R.I.P.
