So Bad...just sooo bad...

Wow, I thought that the dialogue on the original was horrible. The 'wince' factor on some of the dialogue exchanges in these episodes was off the charts! I could not bring myself to watch the whole series but several indicators early on said 'stay away!!'

Examples:

When they first introduced the new 'main' character of a grown up 'Boxey', the Starbuck like clone says "Whats new?" The dry milktoast character Boxey says in a ultra boring voice 'Nothing', as he puts away some shoes in a closet...Wow what stunning writting!! Way to introduce a new important character in a unique and exceiting way!! Great Job!

In another scene when they are on earth ,they have problems figuring out a revolving door, not being able to get inside the building and walking out from where they started, Starbuck says 'Mabye they have and alien detector device that does not allow aliens to enter". And he was SERIOUS!! WINCE WINCE

Dont even get me started on Dr Z!!

Have you seen the episode with an amnesiac Cylon and Wolfman Jack yet?

"Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeosity made flesh."

No, but it sounds so bad that it should be good...Definite MST3k material

Pretty much. As I recall, that Wolfman Jack episode was as comically bad as the series got, but it's been many years since I saw them, and I've probably blocked out some of the more painful memories...

ANYONE who says Battlestar Galactica, either the 1980 series or the original, is bad, IS, in my opinion, one thruster short of a viable flight system!

The first episodes of Galactica 1980 weren't that bad, and The Return Of Starbuck was a great episode but the rest of the Galactica 1980 episode were pretty terrible.

I preferred the '78 series. and even though there were some really bad episodes and some really good ones too of that series. Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer, Jolly, Athena, Cassiopeia, Sheba, Tigh, Adama, Baltar.

They where all great characters, but then they had to go and can the series and when they brought it back the only original cast member brought back was Lorne Greene as Adama and giving it such a low budget compaired to the '78 series was another of the reasons it failed so badly.

I just wish that the new one could've been a continuation of the original or Universal had let Richard Hatch make his Battlestar Galactica: The Second coming movie which I have no doubt would've rocked having seen the way the Cylons and colonials looked from the pictures taken from the trailer.

The new series might be good for some people, but it's not for me.

Soon Adama, soon - Baltar.
