Love Story created in Post

I think its hilarious how all that dialouge (darling, I love you, etc...) was made with dubbed voices. They obviously felt that they didn't have any love story and tried to create one in the end... At least in the pilot.

You are so right. The voices didn't even match.

I noticed that in the original episodes of "Galactica Discovers Earth" that the 'love story' was not there but in the "Conquest Of The Earth" movie (which is parts of "Galactica Discovers Earth" and "The Night The Cylons Landed" edited together) that the 'love story' was added.

Actually, the 'love dialogue' created for Jamie to Dillon (huh??) was not in the pilot, but in the VHS release of Conquest of the Earth; a made-for-video rehash of the pilot (Galactica Finds Earth, Part 1) and The Night the Cylons Landed.

Even more hilarious, is that in any other part of the episode(s) we do not see ANY hint of attraction between the characters. Too bad the "Conquest" love dialogue didn't make it to the dvd as a bonus feature.

For syndication of the original Battlestar series back in the early 1980s, they edited individual episodes (usually 2 at a time) into 2 hr TV movies which used some ADR dubbing to 'smooth over' the transitions. And Apollo's dubbed voice sounded NOTHING like Richard Hatch (the actor who played the original Apollo). In some cases, the editing rendered the episodes nearly incomprehensible.
