Hi ive seen some goof errors in galactica 80. discovery of earth part 2.when Troy and Dylan go back to WW2 they meet up with german fighters.when they first discover the fighers at 12:00 high the fighters are german stukas later they appear to be ME 109's,but in 2 shots you also see the germans as Spitfires 1 clearly has british markings on it. the take off scene looks alot like the Battle of Britain.when the ME 109's take off.when u see the shot with the Spit, you also see that the spit is being followd by a me 109. See if u see more goofs in BSG 80's there are much more.
Redheaded superscout is called Jason in one episode and Wellington in another.
Jamie livesd in Reno but has California plates.
When they take off on the bikes in Galactica Disccovers Earth Part III, Troy & Dillon are wearing their Earth leather jackets, but in a closeup when they activate the flying more, they have Colonial uniform sleeves.
Troy & Dillon buy all kinds of camping equipment and leave on their motorcycles without it, but it ends up in the woods with them & the kids.(Super Scouts I)
Willy can't tell anyone about the vipers and no one believes him, but the bus pulled up right next to them.
When the Vipers fade to invisible, the hill in the background moves as the shot fades.(Gal Disc Earth I)
Starbuck remains marooned on the planet, but there is a perfectly good working Cylon raider there.(Return of Starbuck)
Why would the Imperious Leader leave the Cylon capitol for a 30 year journey to follow the humans.
The Cylons destroy all of the agro ships, but after "Magnificent Warriors," there was only one left.
The shuttle leaves the Delphi and doesn't have enough fuel to get to the fleet, but enough to get to Earth. Why is the Delphi closer to Earth than to the fleet when the Colonials are trying to stay away from Earth to keep the Cylons from finding it?
When the "farmers" are entering Dr. Zee's ship to go to help the Alonzos, the same actors enter twice, once in each camera angle.
Why would they put the highjackers in the lounge and those who stopped them in the bathroom?
A giant radio station with state of the art equipment (for the time) and all that automation and no security guard?
Starbuck remains marooned on the planet, but there is a perfectly good working Cylon raider there.(Return of Starbuck)
for this i belive it's stated the raiders need two pilots to fly. the third cylon just gave orders (apollo to sheba from T.H.O.G. ). even with a perfectly working ship starbuck is still traped
The scene where you saw the Spitfire and the one wher you sw the German 109's taking off were actually ripped off the Battle of Britain movie, there are also several other scenes that looked familiar, like the Hogan's Heroes type explosion of the V2 rocket and the British Mosquito that get's shot down looked like a scene stolen from Mosquito Squadron.
Did you all noticed that the German leading the stock fotage World War II fighters is in a cockpit of a Zero, possible the same Zero that was used in Baa Baa Black sheep, mostly close up of gun firing and in Prisoner of War Araki's Zero where Hutch and Gutterman are looking for the sonar device.
Don't forget, the full-scale vipers were changed to seat two (a pilot and a passenger) but the miniatures weren't changed and the series uses stock shots of vipers that don't match and don't have the extra length of the passenger canopy with the square window for the passenger (the one Robyn Douglas looks out of).
Also, there are panel lines on the flying bike bodywork when the bike is in the sky looking down at the road below that don't appear on the bikes otherwise.
In episode 3 - the Vipers are taken to a secure facility - but Troy, Dillon and Miss Prissy-Pants are able to take a cab to it - and walk up to within stone-throwing distance of the ships....
The numbers on the planes are also in reverse, indicating the shot was put in backwards.
In Spaceball, when Dillon and Troy are wrapping up their EVA, the wires holding Troy up are so blatantly visible that at first you think they are there to tether him to something.
In Adama's opening narration, he says years instead of yahrens, even though the Colonials haven't adopted Earth terms yet.
If Dr. Zee knew all along that the Cylons were still following the fleet, why did he wait until they arived to tell Adama?
The V2 did actually launch and there were several of them. They were also tested and used for years prior to the end of the war, when the Germany sequence takes place.
The uniforms change color in transit, but Xaviar's clothes do not.
Neither do the lights on the helmets.
Why are there only 12 students in the entire fleet?
If there are more, why are children of such various ages in the same class?
Dillon is assigned to Earth. Why is he teaching school.
When a student asks about the parents' planet, Dillon mentions Caprica. Why were none of the students' parents from the other eleven Colonies?
How did Troy & Dillon know the scouts' sizes?
Why would Xaviar/Nash have a German accent?
The Colonials had time and resources to learn English, but the Cylons did not. Yet they speak it perfectly.
The flight left L.A at 9am, then arrived in New York after dark. Even with the time difference, they would have landed in mid afternoon.
Dr. Zee built a ship and said there are no resources to build more, but the Colonials now have the resources of the entire solar system and had none before.
Maybe not a goof but a serious plot hole for the last episode "Return of Starbuck" the last shot is Starbuck still marooned on the planet. What ever happened to the Cylon fighter that brought the extra Centurions and could Starbuck fly away with it?
"The flight left L.A at 9am, then arrived in New York after dark. Even with the time difference, they would have landed in mid afternoon."
Back then, A flight from LA to NY was about 5 hours, So assuming they arrived at 5PM NY time, and it was on Standard time, not daylight savings (remember its Halloween in this episode so it got dark about 4:30 PM at this time of year)We know the flight was to New York, but we don't know that it was a NON-STOP or if there were delays in landings which, given LaGuardia at that time, it is very possible that they would have landed later.
"If there are more, why are children of such various ages in the same class?" Students were grouped by their language dialect and by their home ship, not their age. In the original BSG, Gemons spoke Gemonese and thus it stands to reason that Gemonese children would be in a class with simiar speaking students. And most likely they would also live amongst other Gemonese.
"Why are there only 12 students in the entire fleet?" and "When a student asks about the parents' planet, Dillon mentions Caprica. Why were none of the students' parents from the other eleven Colonies?"
Most likely, he was using Caprica as an example. There were actually more classes and more students. ( Refer to answer above regarding more students) At the beginning of the "Superscouts" Part 1 episode, the Gemeni ship was beimg used as the schooling ship and after the attack by the cylons, the deck officer stated that other shuttles have already left and was counting the remaining students to make sure all were accounted for. So one can assume, there were more than 12 students total...
Another fact that people are not aware of.. Each planet in the system had a couple of Battlestars that represented their planet. Pikon, was the replaced by the Galactica, whis was the one of 2 Caprican Battlestars. Atlantia, Solaria, Columbia, and a unknown fourth were of the first fleet, We don't know how many fleets there were, but we don't know that there were at least 5 as the Pegusus was the flagship Battlestar of the 5th fleet. We do know that the Pegasus was not the 5th Battlestar that was featured in the pilot movie because it had laready been thought of as destroyed during an earlier skirmish that occured before the events in the pilot took place.
"Atlantia, Solaria, Columbia, and a unknown fourth were of the first fleet"
Cree did say that Columbia was destroyed at the peace conference and the novelization placed Solaria at the battle. We did definietley see Galactica and Atlantia. Background chatter during the battle gives the names of the other three battlestars as Acropolis, Triton and Pacifica.
Apollo: Zac? Tigh: His ship was destroyed just short of the fleet. "Battlestars Atlantia and Acropolis losing speed." "Must reduce speed three points to maintain position with Atlantia."
Adama: Helm, bring us around. "This is Acropolis. We're on fire." Adama: We're withdrawing. "Request shuttles to..."
Tigh: That puts them well within strining range of the planets Virgon, Sagitara... "Request damage reports from battlestars Triton and Pacifica." Adama: Yes. Caprica. Athena: "No response from Triton and Pacifica"
In part 1 of the 2 part episode, Night The Cylons Landed, the officer refers to the highway as I-5, which is in LA, not NYC.
Also, on at least one episode "Spaceball" the directed by credit is mispelled as direcetd.
Alos in the same episode, the rear of the viper is shown and the rear engine area is white, as if the viper was new, but even after its first use, the rear should be darkened by weathering and exhaust deposits.
Starbuck ear-bleedingly refers to 'months', and he doesn't have the weak excuse Adama could use of proximity to Earth culture.
Dr Zee (shouldn't it be Zed?) speaks American Received Pronunciation... (you know, when it sounds English until they say 'MAR-dger-ihn', 'BAY-suhl', or 'o-REG-uh-no'? And then rave about the new song from that band 'POR-tih-shed'? And then are perfectly nonplussed when you spew that last mouthful of beer all over the bar when they mention how they want to spank that woman's fanny over there in a booming stage voice?) Why would a Galactican find it necessary to fake it, eh?
