Battlestar Time line --- Help please

Hello, just wondering if anyone can help me get a couple of things straight

1)there was an episode where Starbuck crashed on a planet and was helped by a Cylon at the end when others came to rescue him, i beleive that it was on a deserted planet but i cannot find it in any episode listings.

2)did the series continue with some kid dressed all in white leading them to earth.

3)what was the time line in regards to the initial movie, tv series, 2nd tv series, any other movies that may have occurred?

Thanks in advance --- Larry T.

The episode is "The Return of Starbuck" and it was the last one aired. The Cyclons were the ones that came to rescue "Cy" as Starbuck named him. The kid in white is Dr. Zee, part of Hollywood's fascination in the late 1970s with child geniuses. In terms of time line, 1980 is supposed to take place 30 years after the original series. The only problem is is that in the last episode of BSG (The Hand of God) a transmission is received of the 1969 lunar landing. Go figure.

I guess the budget was so small they could not buy a calculator

Well, radio waves traveled to where the Battlestar was located at the time and so that means they were pretty close, just 10 light years away. But, if you recall the Galactica had to travel at a speed equal to the fastest their weakest fleet ship could travel. This is why they would sometimes be forced to leave the fleet for short periods of time.

Perhaps the transmission referred to here traveled through a wormhole to another point in space. After all, it has been theorized recently that our radio transmissions do not travel on indefinitely into space, as has always been thought, but do break up and become unreadable before traveling into really deep space.

A Wormhole?
It's funny the excuses people will make for incompetent writing for crappy shows like Galactica 1980....and if you don't think it was crappy, I have 2 words for you - Super Scouts!!!!

The worm hole explanation would have made more sense if the radio signal would have needed to move faster to make the timeline work, but that's not the case.

I know what you mean, though. People do try to explain what's clearly an inconsistency.
